A podcast cover graphic for “The Behavioral Corner” features the title “The Unspoken Bias: Ageism in the Workplace.” The episode highlights Bill Merck, author of Breadcrumbs: Finding a Philosophy of Life. A circular photo shows Merck wearing sunglasses and a jacket. The design includes the Behavioral Corner logo, website link (behavioralcorner.com), and episode number 172 in the top right corner.

I was fortunate to be on Steve Martorano’s show, The Behavioral Corner, to talk about ageism, among other things. One question had to do with when a person is out of work for some time. What are the best ways to address a gap in work experience during an interview?

Our discussion explores the subtle ways ageism infiltrates our everyday lives and particularly, our workplaces. Here are two clips from the interview. You can also watch the entire interview or read the full transcript here.

Bill’s book, So, You Want to Be a Leader, is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Read excerpts from his book and articles on leadership here.
