A Meaningful Day for Ghostflower and Its Readers

There are special moments in an author’s journey when a book becomes more than something created on a page—it becomes a story shared from one person to another. For Ksenia Merck, the Cassadaga Summer Gala was one of those moments. Surrounded by a warm and welcoming community, Ksenia had the opportunity to share Ghostflower with both familiar faces and new readers, talk about the story behind the novel, and connect with people who were curious about the world William F. Merck II created. After the personal journey of bringing Ghostflower into publication, being able to share it directly with readers made the day especially meaningful.

Seeing Ghostflower on the Shelves in Cassadaga

One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing Ghostflower on the shelves of Cassadaga’s store. For Ksenia, that simple sight represented something much bigger: Bill’s story continuing to reach new people. Ghostflower explores space, time, destiny, human connection, and the mysterious connections that can extend across generations. It is a science fiction adventure, but beneath its story of time travel are questions about humanity, the future, and what we are willing to do today for those who come after us. Seeing the book available in a place where readers could discover it for themselves was another meaningful step in its journey.

Conversations That Give a Story New Life

Throughout the event, Ksenia connected with people who stopped by to ask questions, learn more about Ghostflower, and pick up a copy of the book. Those conversations are an important part of what happens after a story leaves the author’s hands. Every reader brings their own questions, perspective, and imagination to the pages, creating a new relationship with the story. For Ksenia, meeting readers in person also creates an opportunity to talk about the inspiration behind Ghostflower and the journey of continuing Bill’s work. The conversations at Cassadaga were a reminder that books can create connections between people who may have never otherwise crossed paths.

Continuing the Journey of Ghostflower

The Cassadaga Summer Gala was another meaningful chapter in Ksenia’s journey with Ghostflower. From Bill’s original manuscript to its publication, artwork, companion journal, and now its growing community of readers, the story continues to find its way into new hands. Ksenia hopes this is only the beginning of many more conversations and connections around the book. Discover Ghostflower and follow Ksenia’s ongoing journey as she continues sharing William F. Merck II’s story with readers and communities.
