A promotional graphic for the “Frontlines of Freedom” 15th Anniversary features two logos side by side. On the left, a circular emblem shows a silhouette of a soldier with a rifle, climbing rocks against a red, white, and blue background, with the text “Frontlines of Freedom – Col Denny Gillem.” On the right, a gold medallion-style logo reads “Military Talk Radio” with the names Josh Leng, Roland Ashby, and Skip Coryell around the edge. The background is an American flag with a faded silhouette of a soldier.

Bill’s August 26, 2023 guest appearance on the Frontlines of Freedom podcast led to an interesting conversation on military retention issues and strategies to improve lower-than-average attrition rates. Host Lt. Col. Denny Gillem, a West Point graduate and highly decorated combat veteran, designed the military news and talk radio show to address and discuss the most pressing issues facing our armed forces, veterans and their families.

In this clip from the show, Bill expands on his thoughts about why is it so important for the United States to have a strong military. He points out how much the military offers to young people, but many are not aware of these options. They also touch on why physical fitness may not be as essential for some positions and opportunities.

You can listen to their 11-minute discussion in this clip:

You can listen to the entire hour with Bill and the show’s other guests here. Bill’s book, So, You Want to be a Leader: Secrets of a Lifetime of Success, is available on Amazon.
